In this presentation we will look to the history of the witches’ flying ointment and discover what we can draw from this interesting topic to apply to contemporary magical practice.  Shamanic workings, spirit travel, communication with deities and familiar spirits, shapeshifting, divination, spellwork and more can all be aided by these energetically and chemically powerful formulas.  In this workshop Coby will be creating a powerful ointment formula based on the techniques and ingredients found in flying ointment recipes from the Middle Ages.  Attendees will be shown the difference between working with these formulas sympathetically compared to chemically, and how the two can be joined together for powerful results. 

Coby will also discuss a variety of trance inducing techniques to prepare for and enhance the effectiveness of the experience, including techniques for divination, spirit flight and spirit interaction.  

We will also explore the concept of Underworld travel and why it is best suited towards these baneful formulations.  Coby will discuss the variety of realms that the Underworld offers access to and how to find your way to them to communicate with the dead, meet familiar spirits and gain access to deeper places within our own consciousness.
